A day for people who want a website that stays where they put it. You leave with yours online, on a domain or a key you control.

What happens

Morning: get it up

Four short talks, twenty minutes each, then everyone opens a laptop. By lunch the room has a page each, published from a folder rather than a dashboard.

Afternoon: keep it up

Backups, domains, what happens when the host raises the price, and how to move a site in an afternoon. All of it feels dull right up to the morning it is the only thing that matters.

Evening: the fair

Tables around the room. Show what you made, swap links, argue about RSS. Pizza arrives at seven and the doors stay open until ten.

Four talksHosting on a key. Static files that outlive frameworks. Reading your own logs. What a domain actually is.

Lunch in the courtyardSoup, bread, and the vegan pot on the left.

Workshops, pick oneBackups that you have restored at least once. Moving a site off a platform. Writing for a page nobody ranks.

Show and tellFive minutes each, projector, no slides required.

19:00

The fairTables, pizza, and the good speakers.

House rules

  1. Anyone can come. Beginners get the front row and the first questions.
  2. No recruiting, no pitching, no scanning badges.
  3. Photos only with a yes from everyone in the frame.
  4. If you fix something for someone, show them how you did it.
  5. The room is on the ground floor and the toilets are step free. Tell us what else you need and we will sort it.
Ninety seats, no tickets Mail hello at hardrefresh dot sk with the name you want on the tag. We reply within two days. If the room fills we run a second date in November, same building.
